Our Practitioners

Carla Marie Toth, LAc, MAOM

Carla Marie received her Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to finding her passion in this field, she earned her BS in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology from San Diego State University. She uses a correlation between the scientific theories of Ecology and the healing art of Oriental Medicine – seeing the body similar to an ecosystem with the energy channels and organs as micro-systems – getting the whole system into balance to build and maintain health. Carla Marie specializes in treating pain and injury.

Julie Gwyther, LAc, MSOM

Prior to moving to Durango, she had a private practice in Boulder and Nederland, CO. Originally from Argentina, Julie uses her Spanish skills to accommodate the group’s Spanish speaking patients. Julie specializes in women's health, fertility support, and pregnancy and post partum care.  Her other areas of focus are digestive conditions, allergies, respiratory disorders, sleep issues and pain conditions.  Julie creates individualized treatment plans for each patient that may include a combination of dietary therapy, herbal therapy, Qi Gong exercises and lifestyle modifications.  Her belief is that empowering patients through education contributes to long term health and balance.
